![]() It is for apes, and every animal in the wild. ![]() And I am left wondering why a 100% raw diet is not sufficient in calories. Garlic is a toxic irritant that has no place in a healthful diet. Makes good sense, though I am disappointed that it includes garlic powder in some recipes. This book is concise and to the point, a quick and easy read. ![]() It does not require much self discipline, once the appetites have been rebooted. For most people, this is the optimal diet because it is both healthful and satisfying. No one ever got fat on this kind of food! And no one ever went hungry either. It is about eating well, and some of these recipes do look tasty! It offers no quick fixes, only a workable plan for a lifetime of healthful eating based on sound science. This is not a book about self-denial or eating less. The standard American diet is too low in fiber and too high in animal fats. It criticizes most vegan diets as being too grain-based, and 100% raw diets as being too low in calories. It dismisses USDA “food pyramids” as commercially-motivated propaganda. It debunks the Atkins Diet and the Sears Diet, and explains why they are problematic. Deficiencies are not a concern, with the “possible exception” of Vitamins D and B-12. It offers a few simple recipes and advice on feeding babies and children. ![]() This book recommends a fruitarian-vegetarian diet, mostly raw, plus potatoes, beans, and whole grains. ![]() ![]() ![]() The attacker, Payton Gendron, was 18 when he drove more than 200 miles from his home in rural New York, looking for Black people to kill in Buffalo’s largely minority and working-class East side.
